Its September 2009, this Blockbuster retail store is still open, but I wonder for how much longer? So many video rental stores I've known have closed due to competition from Netflix and DVD purchases, as well as on-demand services from cable companies.
This Blockbuster store is in Rockville, Maryland.

Yeah I don't think they have much life left in them, but they're not going down without a fight.
They just recently revised their rental policy so now its more like a red box. You pay two dollars for one night for new releases, and ever night you keep it after that is an additional dollar. All non new releases are a buck for the first and each additional day. A lot better than the ridiculous 4 dollars and something cents for a three day rental.
I would still much rather prefer renting through Netflix and streaming movies on my computer however still think a large group of the older population are still a little scared of all that new fangled technology and prefer the old fashioned way of getting movies.
News broke today that they are closing 960 stores. That is a major move. The must have had a quality management team at one point to have lasted this long, but I can't imagine their brain trust is still hanging around.
