Dry Cleaning Mystery Shop #3

Here is another mystery shop report I conducted. I was unable to pickup the order within the requested window, so I tried to make up for it by thinking of some new ideas in my report. I told them to improve the VIP bag “pouch”. Not sure how it could be improved, but there is a great opportunity there for taking better care of VIPs with a small investment.

Upon drop off, the building looked great. They still need to install some lights above the door, though It doesn’t look too bad without them. The windows were getting washed so one of the doors was not operational. Upon pickup, everything looked fine, one of the CSRs was hanging up some Halloween decorations, which looked a little dangerous. She was up on top of a counter. Suzette was very nice and friendly, I enjoyed conducting my transaction with her. She said she could assist me, and since I was dropping off a VIP bag, I confirmed that my credit card would not be charged. She confirmed that and then told me to have a nice day, and that my order would be ready on Monday after 5:00PM Laurie seemed a little distracted, but admittedly I was too. I was unable to pickup my clothes the evening prior, so I instead picked them up today. Its too bad that if you drop the clothes after 10AM on Saturday, you have to wait until Monday night when there is only a few hours before the store closes. Maybe they could extend the morning window until noon to have the clothes ready by the same day, or sometime on Sunday. The clothes always look great when I pick them up, in fact, after several years of being a customer I’ve never had a problem. As I’ve said before, the bags, elastics, and coat hangers are kind of a pain, but I can’t envision dry cleaning without them! One suggestion, the little plastic thing that contains the information for the VIP bag could be improved. Not sure how, but it is insufficient for what it does - holding coupons, receipts, and special instructions. Its actually a great opportunity to communicate with “VIP” customers. :-) Because I visit both the Adams Street and the East Milton Square store, I might be a little biased against the East Milton Square shop. The parking and entryway at the Adams Street location is so much better than the East Milton Square location, I practically dread going there. I live about 1/2 way in between them both so it shouldn’t make a difference. The entryway at East Milton Square makes me feel incredibly unwelcome, but I’ve said that before. You walk in and there is a big wall in front of you blocking you from entering the store.
