CVS Pharmacy uses NeoWare Thin Clients

I was at the CVS Pharmacy the other day, and I noticed that they are using NeoWare thin clients. That's awesome! Thin clients are low-power, low-cost, and low-maintenance computers which are perfect for retail applications.

Since most retail employees don't need a rich multimedia experience, a thin-client is a perfect choice. And in the case of pharmacies, they have enough processing power to handle the privacy-enhanced requirements of HIPPA.

CVS should also experience some positive energy saving cost benefits of running thin clients. I'm curious which operating system they are using, probably either Windows or linux, as I believe CVS Pharmacy's IT department would prefer working with Windows, but Neoware has their own linux distribution.

With the number of CVS Pharmacies, I'm sure this was a great customer for NeoWare.
